Team Umizoomi Birthday Party

Here  we go again! Of course my husband and I decided on another theme birthday party for our youngest son’s 4th birthday: Team Umizoomi. You would think with all the work that went into his Angry Bird party, we would do something simple for his 4th but instead we selected a theme that has NO party supplies in the market (besides the DIY items you can find on Nick Jr’s website). However, we did decide to have the party in our home instead of renting out a room at the community center. This may it a lot easier with transporting goods.

If you had a chance to read my other party blogs, everything from the invitations to the food must incorporate the Team Umizoomi theme. So let’s first begin with the invitations:

Invitations were created with Microsoft Publisher and  printed on Avery Textured Half-Fold Greeting Cards 5.5×8.5 with the first image on the front and the 2nd on the back.

Cake – As before, I used LeAnn Rogers, owner of Next Level Cakery to create my son’s Umi-Car Cake.

Geo Costume – I contacted Kerry from KA Design to make my son’s Geo costume to wear during the party.

 

4-year-pictures – I had his pictures taken at Portrait Studio 101. For one particular pose, he wore his Geo costume and I had it blown up to a laminated 16×20 for all of the guest can sign with a permanent maker.  I also did this for his 2 & 3-year-old party; it’s a nice keepsake!

Decorations – I made a Birthday Balloon Wreath for the front door. I went to Hobby Lobby and purchases a monogram letter C (I painted it blue),  and a foam wreath. Hobby Lobby had a large wide roll of green ribbon on clearance for a couple of bucks that I bought and used to wrap around the foam wreath. I purchased a pack of fabric pins at Wal-Mart to pin the balloons. I also bought the pipe cleaners at Wal-Mart as well and wrapped them around a pencil to achieve the spiral effect.

I used the sun room of my home at the party room. So I drapped the entrance of the door with plastic tables cloth ($1 each) using the Umi-Colors and made a sign stating, “Welcome to Umi-City”.

I went to a local shop that does custom spray painting and had a canvas made of Team Umizoomi. The guy only charged me $90.

I decided to have a candy and cookie bar and used my tv stand and two book shelves to display the treats.

Candy/Cookie Bar:

Umi-Bar: Hershey Bar wrapped with a Umi-label I made with Microsoft Publisher. I purchased a 18 ct. box of Hershey Bars at Sam’s Club.

Umi-Lollipop: 3” wide Whirly Pops. I purchased the pink/white and the blue/white at Birthday Express for $14 for a pack of 8. I purchased the green/white at The Candyland Store for $1.89 each since Birthday Express did not have the green/white in stock. I put an Umi-Sticker on the front of the lollipop. To hold the lollipops, I used a vase from the dollar store and added candy melts as the filler. The candy melts was of course the Umi-Colors.

Umi-Cookie: Sugar cookies from Blue Chip Cookie, a local cookie store,  designed with Milli, Geo and Bot.

Umi-Gum: 12pk of Bubble Gum Tape purchased from Sam’s Club. The pack came with 4-Pink, 4-Blue and 4-Green…the Umi-Colors!!!!! Of course, I added an Umi-Sticker to the front.

Umi-Sauce: Apple-Sauce with an Umi-Sticker.

Umi-Hand: Rock, Paper, Scissor Hand Novelty Candy from Amazon.

Umi-Water: Ozarka’s 8 oz-48 pk  water bottles from Sam’s Club with a Umi-Label.

Umi-Food: I had made food tents but with everything going on the day of the party, they did not make the food table. However, I have added then to the page for your enjoyment.

Food Tents:

For table decorations, I had 3-tables,

• Geo’s Table – I covered Geo’s table with a blue plastic tablecloth purchased from Wal-Mart. For the table runner, I found a pack of shapes at Office Max that I taped together to create Geo’s Super Shapes table runner. For the centerpiece, I filled a mason jar purchased from Hobby Lobby with Wild Berry Fruit Sour Balls from TheCandyLandStore.com. Then wrapped the mouth of the mason jar with a blue leis. Coming out of the mason jar was 3-blue balloons, blue hand clapper, blue bubbles and pens all with Geo stickers. I placed blue mints around the mason jar for the confetti look. For place settings, each seat had a blue paper plate, a fork and spooned wrapped in a blue napkin secured with a Geo Sticker.
• Milli’s Table – similar to Geo’s table but instead used pink accessories. For the table runner, I used a pink and white patterned tablecloth for Milli’s Pattern Power.
• Bot’s Table – similar to Geo’s table but instead used green accessories. For the table runner, I printed out pictures of my son as well as family photos inside of Bot’s Belly Screen and taped together to run along the center of the table. 

Games/Entertainment:

1. I purchased a Discovery Kids Cardboard Train from BestBuy.com and of course made it an Umi-Train by added Umi-Stickers on the train. I had plenty of washable markers and this was a big hit in keeping the kids occupied during the party.
2. Geo’s Scavenger Hunt where the kids had to search for Geo’s shapes around the party room. Each shape had a number of their (1-16)  which indicated their order of Umi-Punch Board.
3. Umi-Punch Board: I made and filled with different party favors to be filled with the Umi-Treat Bags.

Umi-Treat Bags:

For the girls: For treat bags, I wanted to do something a little different from just tying up candy in a bag. With one of my many trips to Hobby Lobby, I found pink, blue, and green purses on clearance for the girls!! For the boys, I bought blue and green buckets and water bottles from Party City.
